Hi guys. I ran into this issue. I have a curtain wall comprised of 1 panel witch extends beyond the gridlines/perimeter in order to go passed the mullion. The thing is, when I schedule the Panel's "Area" it only takes into account. the area inside the gridlines/perimeter. witch is no good for me since i need the WHOLE panel area including that witch goes beyond the gridlines. Side note: This is not a supossed to be a curtain wall or window, but for modeling purposes I thought a curtain wall would be a good option because of its versatility.
The only workaround i can think of is adding an "extra area" parameter inside the panel family, so that I can later schedule and sum. BTW I dont even now if this is posible since you can't schedule panel dimensions...
...any help would be greatly appreciated.

DID IT :D!!!
I only had to add some shared instance-repoting parameters inside the panel family; for the panel's "height" and "width" . Then in the project schedule: add a calculated parameter that multiplies "width*height" and Bingo!!
if anyone has a better workaround, please share it!!

HOW DID YOU GET THE PANEL TO EXTEND BEYOND THE MULLION? THANKS

I thought you could just create a custom panel size that doens't necessarily have to respond to the panel increments. Also, it probably would be important not to have a "pre-determined" vertical and horizontal grid laid out. ALSO, you probably don't want to tie the top and bottom parts of the panel to any reference plane in your custom curtain panel family but have it be parametrically controlled.
Keep in mind it may take several attempts as Revit is known for "replacing" panels that it doesn't think will work.

oompalin your panel family just extend your geometry beyond the borders (reference planes). Add a parameter or what ever you prefer to control the extensions. Keep in mind that revit will only schedule what is within the mullions (the issue regarding this post) unless you add some extra parameters to get the proper calculations.
