HI All,
I am familiar with the 'override host layers' and its ability to set pen weights across layers in section of an element. eg. a roof
However, I would like some elements within my project- that also have a number of layers eg. floor slabs - to be cut with different pen weights to what has been set within the override host layer table.
On the same view.
Is this possible?

PS: I have tried setting the element I wish to have cut differently with the 'by category' option on and set the pen weight for that object to what I would like.
It seems if I set an element up with an override the host layers overide settings are applied to all elements irrespective of whether the by category setting has been selected an object.

This is correct hence the "override" title.
To achieve what your after your would need to use the linework tool on those specific elements that are to differ...

Hi Guys,
I found a way to get around it but is means assigning a layer name that may not accurately represent the layer ie. instead of 'structure' you may need to use 'substrate'
By tweaking the combination in layer names and common edge settings for the objects you are able to show a roof in section with different penweights per layer to the floor in section on the same view.
I can now show a roof in section and only have the roof sheeting backlined in a 2 pen setting while the rafter beyond in a lighter pen and have my concrete floor slabs section in a 4 pen setting.
