How do they perform, stack up against others? My team is getting a bit fed up with the current office standard which we are using. Complaints are: Laggy, Unresponsive, Poor Ergonomics, Lack of Functions, Jumpy - and the worst, Middle mouse not responding quickly and is giving us a rough time when entering 3D Orbit.

I have a soft budget of $100.00 USD for a combo set. Must be wireless as we do a lot of undocking with laptops and presentations away from our workstations. 

What do you use?

Do you prefer laser or optical?

Is there a lag between the clicks and buttons due to the wireless?

I use a Logitech M510 wireless laser mouse, and have noticed zero lag. My keyboard is an old Logitech G15 gaming keyboard. It's not strictly necessary, but the back of programmable macro keys really speed up my drafting.
