We are trying to create a family with an instance length but similar array parameters. The array formula is:
(Total Length) / Minimum Joint Spacing + 1
This works as long as the length is a type property but classifying as instance receives an error: "Instance Parameters can't be used in Type Parameter formulas." It is important for this family's length property to be adjustable in the project model on an instance basis as there would be too many types to make this feasible. Is this possible to make the length an instance but still have an associated array formula? If so, how would you suggest modifying the parameters to get this to work?
We are working with Revit 2012. Thanks!

Make the array formula an instance parameter.
