hi guys!
an extrusion is not flexing like i would expect it to do. or better, sometimes it does sometimes not.
i have various types and when i switch between them i sometimes get the error that it cannot be flexed without loosing some restrictions...
as you can see in the picture, the two yellow lines are the ones that randomly give errors. they are only linked in theyr end points and have no other constraints. why is something like this happeneing and what am i doing wrong?
thanks
regards
Igor

creating parameters associated directly with geometry is risky. You're probably creating a sort of circular reference where all the lines want to move but nobody knows who should go first.
You're better off creating reference planes/lines and arranging them with paramters, then start your extrusion and lock the lines to the reference planes.

Another possible problem is that when you adjust the parameters the sketch tries to adjust and makes the sketch lines cross. If you know what values are causing the family to break, open up the family (and possible edit the sketch), then enter those values and see what happens.
I would also do as AbsoluteBIM suggested and build a skeleton with ref planes, then tie your dimensions/parameters to them. That tends to work much better than constraining sketches/extrusions directly.

thanks guys will try asap!
just another question, if i have 2 extrusions, 2 faces are aligned. both extrusions have fixed dimensions. how am i supposed to do to detach them?
if i try to just detach them by dragging the second extrusion then i get the error telling me that i will loose some constraints bla bla bla and i click yes, but instead of detaching it, revit throws away the measure of the first cube and resizes it.

tried, but unfortunately it doesnt work. its like if he wouldnt expect a rotation of the lines i highlited. he only expects a movement parallel to the line but no rotation..
