Hi there..
I've been tinkering with a small thing for some hours, and can't seem to find the solution, so I thought I'd try to run itby the experts
I'm using Revit Architecture 2012 btw..
I have three plasterboard walls encircling a steel coloumn. The walls are comprised of two layers of plasterboard, andI'm trying to make a detail of how they are joined.
When I draw the walls, they join seamlessly (see picture 1), but I would like to show the lines where the boards end. When I use the wall join tool, it shows the end of the walls exactly where they should be (see picture 2), but they always disappear again when I exit the tool.
I know this is the normal behavior of the tool, but my question is, if there's some way to permanently show the end ofthe boards?I made it work with cut profile, but when the walls actually join in the right place, I'd like to simply show this.
Does anyone have any idea?

If the material and the layer number is the same, then Revit will always join them.
I wouldn't mess around with this. Add a detail line.

I really kind of mis-lead you. You can get these walls to maybe join like you want ... but I don't think you will like it.
In the plan view, use the wall joins tool under geometry, place the square over your joint and pick butt. No you may see the line you want or a mirror of them. Either way, you will now also have extra lines in your elevations.
The 2D, detail line is still the better solution. I just didn't want some others to jump on me....
