Did you use the normal wall cut in your window familyor did you do some special cuts using voids?
Do you have a thin wall applied to the face of your wall?

they are the same windows i have always used, i even tried the out of box windows with revit to test and they do the same thing. o thin walls just a 1'2" thick brick exterior wall. Crazy thing the windows work fine on my 4 7/8" interior walls.

This problem is not unusual for thick walls.
If these are regular wall cut windows, then edit the family and change the host wall thickness to approximate what you have. << this problem should not happen - it is a programming problem.
If these windows have multiple void cuts then that is more of a problem. The main window cut void is not deep enough and needs to be changed.

hub,
Beginners mistake. after i got in this morning and started looking at his project. i quickly came to realize he was using existing walls and placing new windows in them and the view was not set correctly. i did not realize last night he haad been using phasing. after that all wass well. whixch would explain with the interior walls worked since they were new walls and new windows.
well, thanks for your help and i will remember your tip about opening cuts.
thanks again

Hey - still a beginner here and I think I made the same mistake you mentioned above.
I had an existing wall with one of my windows and I added three more. The original window is showing but not the three others. How do I change the view settings to see all for? Exactly which setting is it?

Under the view properties - phases - show all.
