Okay here is the situation , recently downloaded revit architecture 2013 , installed it , properly licenced , everything working , but there is some kind of bug where whenever i try to open a file by double clicking it , the revit program starts , give me the "one time upgrade" message for my file (upgrading from revit 2012) , then closes , to successfully open my files i have to open revit 2013 first then select open --> my project file......
please any help would be much appreciated.

We prefer to have our staff always open the proper revit version before opening a file. This helps to prevent the staff from opening a file in a later version when we really don't want them to. There is no reduction in speed doing it this way.
I have seen the problem you state in earlier versions of Revit. I have not seen anyone offer a solution.

i never heard of this one for Revit. please don't for get to post when you find a resolution. i stopped double clicking to open large data driven programs also due the posibility sometimes of unknown effects. i have seen it with other programs.

yeah i figured out as much , but the idea is that i am trying to solve a bug in the program , not deciding whether to use this method or not , i simply asked for a bug fix , thankyou all anyway , i appreciate the quickness of answering boring questions like mine.
