I am using Revit Architecture 2012. Here is my issue. Some time ago I made a shaft for an elevator opening. I decided today that I wanted to delete that shaft. Strangely, I can't highlight it in order to delete it. There are other ways it is behaving strangely as well. I can't highlight the shaft in any view. It is not hidden - I can't highlight it when I reveal hidden elements either.I got desperate enough that I made a 200 foot thick floor slab so that I could try and find the beginning and end of the shaft; it seems to go on endlessly, which is strange considering that there seems to not be any way to leave the bottom of a shaft unconstrained. Then, the third floor slab that exists in the model does not show this shaft cutting through it, yet when I made my super-thick floor it showed the shaft opening going well over the top of the building. What is this crazy thing and how can I get rid of it?

Are you sure you still have it?  Edit your floor slab and see if there is a hole sketched where the slab is.

Could it be in a workset that is turned off?

Whew! I am so glad it was something so simple! It was hanging out in a workset where it didn't belong. I thought I had exausted all of the "obvious" stuff - thank you so much!
