Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and am wondering if there is a way to add an overall parameter to a set of unequal dimensions. In other words, if I am dimensioning unevely spaced reference lines (in a grid formation) within a rectangle, is there a way to keep the proportionality of the lines within the rectangle? I have attached my model so you can see what I am trying to do. Thanks!

Looks like you're on the right track with the formulas. Not sure what you're aiming for, but I gather you want to keep the overall proportions the same and just be able to tweak the size. If so, the only thing missing is a formula to keep the length and width tied together proportionally e.g., W = L*.85 or whatever). Without that formula the overall proportions will change any time you change either the length or the width, whereas I think you want to keep the shape but change the overall size.
When I changed the L and W to 600 and 400, I saw the lines no longer form a rectangle (there are jogs at upper right and lower left corners) so I don't think you have a well-defined rectangular area to begin with. You might need to start over with a set of ref planes as a boundary with equality and L and W parameters, and make sure all your ref lines are dimensioned only to ref planes and not to each other. Again, I'm not sure what you're going for, but maybe it will be a helpful idea.

Ya I started over and realized that you can use the position of points that are hosted on the lines of the grid to maintain proportions. For exampe, if the line is about a quarter of the way across the line, the normalized curve parameter (found in the properties panel) will read .25. So I created a grid using reference lines with 3d snap and it stays proportional when L and W are adjusted.
