I am trying to create a window sill as a seperate family so that way I can nest it to another window that I created.
I found a PDF family GUide, but it doesnt really help me creating a window sill from scratch, any ideas?

This is just a wall hosted generic family ...
You are planning on adding it to a window family so just insert and place it in the family.

So your saying to open up a new window family file and create the sill and then inset that into the window (family) that i already created?

Their process just involves a generic family. I would use a hosted generic family - wall or face an build the sill to go into the host - that means you need a void to cut the host just big enough for the sill.
In their process, they use a void in the window family but that creates other problems because you can't have a void and a wall cut. You must delete the wall cut and use two voids - one full depth for the window and one for the sill.
