Revit 2013 (all disciplines version)

If I set the Manage | Phases, so that the "New" phase i sset to "by category" I get the following:

1. The visual difference between Existing and New phases is very hard to see; i.e. they are both Gray. (Bad)

2. Wall detail linework is visible, as expected.  I can see materials in the cut sections. (Good)

3. Transparent things are indeed Transparent. (Good).

Now, If I change the New Phase to "Overridden" I get the following:

1. The visual difference between Existing and New phases is good, existing has gray lines and new phases have black lines.

2. Wall detail cut section become solid black.  (A major problem!)

3. Transparent things are no loger transparent; i.e. become opaque.  (Bad).

Graphic over-rides for phases is set under your manage tab / phases.

Yes, that is correct (I mentioned that in my original post).  It's the output that is the issue.

This is a process error - not a Revit error.  If you have the elements set correctly in the phase over-ride graphics then you have done something else in the view in question.  There are many possibilities.  Create a new view - NOT A COPY - so that you get a clean slate without any possible added changes.  See if that corrects your problems.
