I'm trying to show the trim around a window that's placed on a stud wall, but the brick veneer overlaps it. My first attempt was to lock the Cut Opening to the exterior trim edges, but this created a new problem in the project's plan view. The stud wall and brick are set too far back and do not illustrate their components correctly. The latest attempt was to apply the Wall-Reveal tool using a custom depth and width rectangle. Is this the best way of handling this? Also, how are curvilnear shaped openings handled (i.e. 1/2 rounds, circles, ellipses, pediment style/tapers, etc.)?
Sincerely,
Bill

You did not provide enough information to answer you.
Is the brick part of the wall that hosts the window?
Is the brick only partial height on the window?
Is the trim part of the window or applied afterwards? If so - how - as a family or in-place?
"...The stud wall and brick are set too far back and do not illustrate their components correctly. "... This needs more explanation.
Screen capture images will also help.

- The brick is intergrated into the Wall System Family.
- No, the brick spans the entire height.
- The trim is part of the window within the loadable family.
I attached a file showing two plans (with & without brick returns), elevation, perspective. There is a Wall-Reveal (left window) at the top allowing the head-trim to show. I haven't attempted to place it at the bottom or sides until hearing whether this is the best method. The returns/window sash inset is another issue.

I suggest you download the "Families Guide" from the AutoDESK website. It will show you how to control the return depths. This should not be affected by the widow placement.
