Hello all,

Ive been apart of the community for a while now, but mostly just find what I need without having to post BUT I've run into some problems trying to get this door together for a client. I've attached a picture showing exactly what is needed, I would love some advice or any help I can get. It has extensive trim plus a single windowed transom above, with a balcony above with yet another trimmed 8 panel patio door. Please help revit wizards!

J

Why would you ever create this as a family?  Do you plan on having a lot of these?

Simply use a door and a window and add in-place families (extrusions / sweeps) for the trim.

Thanks for the quick response, but im not quite sure what gave you the idea that im making a family. Simply put, the trim is the real problem, yes I can find most of the basics of these either on the site or elsewhere but it does not work well with the balcony, which is separate. Is there some way to merge the edge of the balcony with the trim that im not aware of?

As WWhub said, you should create the trim as an extrusion/sweep to match your balcony.
