I have to model this baluster for a model. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? I have been playing with trying to do a sweep or sweep blend but can't seem to get it right. I can't get the sweep to go up and rotate. The center piece is the really tricky part that I can't seem to get. Any suggestions?

The center part is called a basket twist.
There was a post awhile back about modeling a DNA strand. That would be similar to this basket twist.
You can model the normal twist by creating a 1/4 twist family then place multiple copies of this in your balluster family rotating them accordingly.
