Using R2011:
Every so often I come across a problem with section lines. And this current drawing has this issue yet again.
I've created multiple sections through my building (the broken section display style is 'gapped') . I've broken the section lines, and then when I go to adjust the length of the section line I get multiple error messages. Here are the error messages:
1. & 2. Cant draw Detail Filled Region
3. to 5. The constraints of the sketch defining the highlighted element cannot be satisfied.
I'm not sure what I have drawn to cause this problem. The section through the garage is fine, the two through the house cause a problem. One is through stairs, the other is not. I can't see what "detail filled region" the error message is referring to. Nor do I understand what constraints I have put upon the section marker (as that is what becomes highlighted when the error message appears).
Up to this point, I have ended up re-drawing the section markers in the same location (instead of clicking "Delete Elements") so that I don't lose any work by accident. This time, I am going to change the section display style to 'continuous' just as a work-around, but I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this & what may cause this.
Thanks,
Susan

These are 2D items that you have added to the view. I would not know how these could be affected.
When you get error messages like these, did you know that you can expand the message and have Revit show you the items that are having problems?

WWhub: yep, thanks.... It was an added 2D issue.
While I hoped for an answer I tried one more experiment, and it worked to solve the problem.
I had previously created two drafting details of the coffered ceiling. Then, from these details, I created detail groups which I then placed into the sections. To experiement, I ungrouped the groupings which were inserted into the sections, and then tried to move the section lines again, and it worked.
So. Such a simple solution. Now I know for sure, & if anyone else does the same thing, so can they....
Cheers.
