My office was interested in having a building elevation symbol that included both the sheet number and detail number, just like we have with section cut symbols.  Revit doesn't give us this, and in seaching forums i found that people were making a section symbol behave like an elevation, but there were limitations.  i went and tried to make an elevation symbol behave and look like what i wanted, and was partially sucessful, but now need help.  The symbol i made loads fine and works well as long as the building is orthagonal, but if not it doesn't read properly, with the divider line between the sheet number and detail number orienting to the view.  How can i keep this line from orienting to the pointer?  The "Orient to component" check mark is off.

Instead of trying to use something else, Have to tried to create a new elevation tag and load it in that way you can adjust everythin individually. Hope that helped because i didnt quite understand what you wee trying to explain.
