I have a job where in the landscaping we are trying to show mulch in the shape of Alaska. I created a general toposurface with all of the grading at 0'-0" (use to be a soccer field so were just showing it flat). Then my thought was to create a sperate toposurface in the shape of Alaska which starts at 0'-0" and rises up with mulch to about 2'-6". The problem I am having is when I put my 0'-0" points in the do not stay following the outline of the state like I want and end up joining across the 0 points (see top image, blue line) and slope up from there instead of the outline of the state (bottom image). I understand why it is doing what it is doing but my question is how can I create what I'm tying to accomplish so that it keeps the shape of the state? Should I be using a mass instead? I'm stumped!

Increase the number of points in that topo, you will need only one surface for that, not two.

I can't see the pattern on a subregion of toposurface. hence can't rotate it. |
