I am new to this posting so sorry if I post this in the wrong place, but I would like to change my default fill region pattern from a honeycomb pattern to just plain Solid White. I have asked regular users and they are stumped. There does not seem to be a simple check box or other readily visible location to set the default pattern. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I don't believe you can pick the default fill region. When you use a fill region once Revit will remember your last used filled region patter and use that as the default for the next filled region.

Thanks for the reply...not quite right....meantime, somebody at the office here figured out that you have to actually open the central file and do a filled reqion with the desired pattern, save and close. Otherwise, what you stated does not actually happen, it keep reverting to the original fill region, in my case honeycomb. If I am wrong, I apologize. We no longer have Scott Womack here in the office to ask these questions. Thanks again.

I am currently working in a local file which is attached to a central file (of course), and when I do a filled region of grout the next time I do a filled region it defaults to grout.. If I do one of rigid insulation the next time I do a region it defaults to rigid insulation. I just realized that you are running 2012 and I just tried it there and you are correct. I am running 2013 so it appears that they fixed that little problem in 2013.

THanks again for you help. I should really use a mask vs fill, as pointed out by a co-worker. Very much appreciated. No more help needed, Thanks.

If you are using fill from default patten, there are 2 ways to do the change. Just heightligthen the patten then:
- Go into properties and change into grayout.
- Right click the mouse > override graphics in view > by element > view- specific grahics > surface pattern > color [choose] > Pattern [solid fill]
