I want to show a metal deck (Australian stramit profile from steel select) but cannot figure out (remember) how to do it.
I have downloaded the profile family but cannot work out how to include it in the section i am drawing.
Help would be much appreciated!!

You need to include that profile in your floor structure. select the floor, goto properties and add a new layer then change the function to structural deck and select your profile.

Thx Typhoon I was able to create a floor with a deck & change the layers to leave just a deck & no concrete, well at least just a 2mm line of concrete. But I cannot see where I can change the profile that came in the options in the structural editing dialog box.
It is actually a roofing ribbed profile deck that I wanted to create, but a floor deck would be fine if I could do the one I want.

We don't model these in most cases. We use a material.

DITTO.
If you really need that in 3D you can use the "Slope Glazing"

looks like I am not describing my requirements correctly. When I do a section cut I want the profile of the metal to show in the section drawing. Sort of like the insulation detail or like a continuing line of bricks?

We don't give you the fish, we teach you to fishing.... In your HELP menu search for "Repeating Detail" and you will see the whole process.

"Array" seems to work my fishing is not very successful!!
I thought it would be reasonably easy but it looks like I have to get over the Family hump first, I have attached the profile I wanted to use for the repeating detail.
