Hi Bug,
I may not fully understand the complexity of your question, but I came across a pretty good tutorial on windows in masonry openings here:
http://www.dccadd.com/papers/Tutorial%20-%20Creating%20Parametric%20Families%20in%20Revit%20Arch%202011.pdf
I wonder if you could have:
a family with multiple windows nested in it with a scheduled parameter for the masonry opening that is either a labeled dimension between referance planes
- OR -
a calculated value that is the sum of the multiple window widths plus a constant value (width+width+width+4 inches)
so far you can schedule:
1. individual window number
2. group label
3. individual window width and height
but not:
4. 'group' (masonry) opening width and height
If you can get nested windows to schedule and have multiple family types for different opening sizes would that solve your problem? It sounds like that would mean starting over.
(sorry should have said that the image is just a snapshot from the tutorial - was thinking that if you dimensioned the outer most reference planes and labeled the dimensions you could get it to report in a schedule for the width and height of your structural opening)
