Hi all,

Just wanted to put the feelers out for any small (1-5 users) structural engineering firms in Melbourne Australia using revit for predominantly single residential design. I have only heard of one or two.

I like the idea of model sharing, as i feel it will make a better use of the capabilities in Revit and improve the overall bulding design process. Therefore i am interested in hearing if there ARE actually smaller enginering firms using it.

I have approached our 'preferred engineers' on this subject and they feel the investment in training/software is probably too great for them - although they are going to research the benefits/costs and get back to me.

Thanks in advance.

I am with an AE firm in the US, just out of curiousity, would you know the requirements for an SE licensed in the us to be licensed in Australia?

Good luck with your search, good help is hard to find!

sorry - can't help you there... you could try contacting one of the engineering assocations in Melbourne or Sydney.

If you don't have any idea about this, why are you posting this kind of answer?

I am a architect and currently i am working with the MPM architectural services .

Engineering professionals of all disciplines (electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, etc&hellipWinking in the United States are charged with “protecting the safety, health and welfare of the general public.”  Because of this responsibility, all 50 states currently require a PE licensure to practice engineering within their geographic bounds.

You can search for the SE licensed table by state..

Hi Sven,

This is an old post. However, let me know if you're still interested in talking about this.

I have experience using Revit in many residential jobs, collaboratining heavily with design teams. I work for a Structural Engineering firm Melbourne city.

Give me your email address should you wish to discuss offline.
