I've googled and looked in my books but just can't figure this one out. Like the headline says, I have a mass with several walls created by basic walls created by wall by face and some of them can have their profile edited and some of them not.
I can only think of that edited the mass model somehow and thereby converted the wall to a regular wall. I'd like to do that to all of them. They are definitely all created by wall by face, and I can see that the editable ones have shape handles, etc in the 3D view. I've always been told that walls created by wall by face can only be edited by changing the mass and then updating to face, so was quite surprsed when I could edit the profile of a wall but then realized it only worked on some. Anyone know what is going on?
I've been thinking that I've mistakenly touched the mass model so one of them isn't 100% vertical but that doesn't seem to be the issue either.
All help really appreciated, late on a project as it is.

I redid the project without using mass, so I don't have the scene visible anymore. I think I over-complicated the problem description a bit though given the lack of replys. Many people must encountered this issue.
Basically, I created a fairly normal mass, and added basic 8" walls using 'wall to face'. When later selecting these walls some of the allow me to edit the profile of the wall and some don't?
Is there a certain requirement as to why a wall can have its profile edited? Looking at the web, most seems to be of the opinion that if the wall was created by face you can't edit its profile, but that it is definitely not true in general.

The wall has to absolutely be normal to an elevation vie. Perfectly vertical that is.

I could have sworn they were. Are there any other requirements that needs to be fulfilled?

Did you accidently attach your walls to a floor or roof? Ive found that sometimes this creates problems when trying to edit the profile.

Applying walls to the face of a mass is not ideal, really. It's best reserved for complicated geometry. Your options now are to either (if the wall is vertical, why not) redraw the wall not based on massing, or to create a wall void and cut geometry with the wall.
I wouldn't trust wall by face--even on a cube--to work flawlessly.
