HELLO GUYS
I'm currently working on a project for my architectural composition class, the first thing asked was to make an analisis or reconstruction of the existing structure, done! now is the time to decide if keep the pre existing building or demolish it....
due to i live in italy industrial re use or industrial restyling is a common thing BUT normally in structures that have a historic worth value specially buildings built before or even during the 900 which had a important function for the city in that time). Particulary, the place where are working on is an historical wool fabric divided in 4 parts, 2 active woolen mills and 2 ex woolen mills falled in disuse considering that the two unused structures seem to be built "in the moment" and for the need of the moment (1960-1970)obviusly the structures don't have (IMO) neither a historic worth meaning or any architectural value, and considering the studies made in the existing structures which show that the buildings do not have any tecnological nor an aestetically value, no insulation just a pair walls put in for the need of the moment, if i would want to keep it and restyle everything it would cost a lot to level the asphalt, re make the roof ,insulate every single wall and avoid their mould, and a lot of other intervents to host a new structure inside the prexisting one in a way to keep it, considering that it is a valley zone there's a lot of rain during the year as well would it be convenient to restyle or should demolish to host the possible functions that the commitent (our teacher) asked for: archives, town city hall, space for events, short stay appartments and laboratory spaces for workshops, the woolen mill is a recognize hand woven in europe and its name is lanificio paoletti it makes cloths for chanel, gucci, d&g, and other well knowed brands.... so demolish or keep?
please help!!

I think you need to at least make a logical statement for WHAT YOU THINK then ask to discuss that logic. To come in here and ask us to do your work seems a little presumptive.

Sounds interesting. As long as you have a handle on 'phase filters' you could go either way. I'd also like to see the post broken up into a couple paragraphs. Long paragraphs can be a challenge to read.
