Hi there,
I dont knw whether Revit can do a model that looks like a braided rope but hollow inside, which runs along a pathway.. Anyone?? Please help.. This is a project for my uni..Due date is soon!!
Would be much appreciated...
ps: see attached file for the pathway that i designed and the look of the structure.

extrude a circle then use a series of voids to cut out the geomtry

can 'extrude' be used to create horizontal pathway?? and what do u mean by using a series of voids to cut the geometry?

Let me add to alabaster2513 answer.. extrude a solid using sweep in Revit.. then you will be able to extrude using a path.. The concept I think is just like extrude by path in AutoCAD..

Again, let me try to add alabaster2513 answer.. after you create the circle solid by path, you will have a tube right? then you need to make holes in the center of that tube (so it will become a pathway) and then you have to make a lot of holes to make the tube just like a braided rope the way you want it...
I'm not an expert in Revit, but I can say.. it would be quite difficult..
For object like this, I usually use other 3D software that could create more organic shape, and then export it to DWG.. but the downside of this way is that this model will not editable in Revit..
