I'm working in Revit Architecture 2012 and trying to render out some interior shots, but my lights don't seem to be showing up. All of my lights are turned on, but the only one that casts light is a pendant in the corner. I'm using the default recessed cans from the Revit library. Any ideas?

Did you do a interior or exterior rendering? Try doing Interior-Artificial Only and see if they are working.

Yes, that's the setting at which I made the earlier rendering. I should have specified that before.
Setting: Interior: Artificial Only, all interior lights turned on (set to 1)
Lights: Recessed 6" cans and one pendant, all from the Revit library

Hm... is it possible you have a duplicate ceiling in the same place? You would still be able to see the lights in a working view but when rendering, the duplicate ceiling would block their light source.

Your light source is above the ceiling and your lights don't cut a hole in the ceiling.

I haven't tried this. I'll check for it.

So how would I go about fixing this?

I think me and WW are basically saying the same thing. Since you are using the Revit library downlights they have to be hosted in your ceiling. Since you clearly showed the lights there in the non-rendered view, they must be in A ceiling... which is why I think you might have two in the same place.

Thanks! The floor above was overlapping the ceiling, so it was overlapping the lights.

Im having a similar issue. It seems my preloaded revit troffer lights in my ceiling grid arent turned on. The lights in my bulkhead are clearly visible, AND i want to keep the exterior lighting on but it seems too intense (ignore the background image, i chose the wrong one making it seem like the current floor is falling haha).Any suggestions how to turn these lights on, or if they are in fact turned on, make them brighter like the others in the bulkheads so that its clear they are turned on? and what about turning the sun inteseness down?
Also I have rendered on medium settings to test and save some time but im affraid im going to get some major spotty areas even on a high or custom rendering setting. I've heard higher illumination smoothness and bounces setting will help. Any other advice on how to achieve better renders this way?
Thanks

The less shiny things are the better they will look when not rendered in Best. Edit the family of the light and see if there is anything below the light source. there may be a pane of glass there that revit is not rendering sa glass, thus blocking the light. If there is something in the way, delete it.
