Hi everyone. I'm working on a couple designs for my architecture portfolio. I'm hoping to go to grad school for Architecture, so I need one. Anyways, here's my problem. I've got a basically square house started. The outside walls are 10’, and I have a 10’ shaft centered which is 8’ tall. I’d like my roof to slope from the outside walls down to the shaft, with a cutout in the middle, but I can’t get the roofing tool to play nicely. I want it to be nice and curve, and not divided into segments-sort of a dome roof in reverse. I also tried to model a component in place, but that didn’t work out too well. Any ideas?

I think using a sweep would work out if I understand what your trying to accomplish. A section or elevation would be helpful.

I'll try to get a section/elevation up today. I tried doing one last night but I couldn't get it to work. I'm not sure if it was me being tired or not, but I couldn't get it to work. I guess the best way to describe what I'm trying to do would be to imagine a funnel with a very slight slope to it, maybe 1"/12", if that helps.

I created mine using the MODEL IN-PLACE approach and creating a sweep. It would be a preference as to how you want to do it as far as conceptual mass vs model in-place.
