I am working on creating various sheets that would include the same floor plan. For instance I have an egress sheet and a finish plan and code compliance plan in addition to my basic floor plan. 

Question is what is the best approach for creating these plans. Should I create a duplicate with detailing? and shall I put all my line work on the base floor plan or should it be seperated based on what I am useing the plan for.. 

Any direction would be of great help. Still trying to figure out the best way to "manage" all the views and layouts involved with creating a construction drawing set while also creating presentation sheets and such.

Usually, you won't need any linework if working correctly so just duplicate the plan.  You may want to copy/paste, same place, some detail / annotation items like column dimensions / room tags but not everything.
