Why do some labels in a titleblock need to be edited individually while others can be edited globally? For example, the "Project Number" label updates on every sheet no matter which one it is edited on, but the "Drawn By" label needs to be individually updated on every sheet. If I want to make the "Drawn By" label update globally, what do I need to do? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!

Project Number in this case is a Project assigned, shared parameter.  Drawn by is a sheet assign, instance, shared parameter.

If you want the drawn by to be applied to every sheet, change it to a type parameter in the family editor..

You can learn more about parameters in your HELP file.

Thanks WWHub. I understand how to change instance parameters to type parameters in regular families, but how is this done for a label? I'm still checking Help, but so far I haven't figured it out.

The way to do it is to select all the sheets in the browser and change the 'drawn by', or create a new shared 'project information' parameter.  Some of the OOTB stuff cannot be modified.
