I am looking for a way to make a wall family to correctly show a cavity wall system where the block wall sits on 200 (8") high conc curb and the insulation and brickwork continue on down to the conc foundation and floor on which the 200 curb sits. I can detail this seperately, but it is not effective as wall section locations change during the design lifecycle and I loose the detail. Any thoughts?

you can try using the wall section as an underlay for a drafting view. Just trace the lines of the wall with drafting lines and then you'll have the detail no matter how the wall changes.
I hope this helps!

I have done what you say, but it dosen't satisfy my quest to push the limits. I can do this stuff in autocad 3d, so I would love to be able to do the same in Revit. I suppose I am too much of a perfectionist.

Whenever your wall section changes, you can just copy the detail view and modify it. That way you keep the old detail and have the new one as well...just a thought. :-)

You should use a vertically compound wall that has the brick and insulation layers unlocked. You will create one concrete wall that goes up to whatever height you need. You would then draw another wall on top of that, with the face of the block aligns with the face of the concrete, attach the bottom to the top of the concrete stem wall and drag the unlocked insulation and brick layers down over the concrete and lock into place.
Unless I am totally misunderstanding your request, I see no reason to revert to AutoCAD style drafting for something like this that Revit handles easily.

No problem. That's what I'm here for. By the way, the tutorials that come with Revit are an indispensible source of info for you.
