Hi there,
I made a window family from a door with an upper light. In the floorplan I would like to see the horizontal section at about 1500mm plus floor. According to my view range. For some reason I can only see the horizontal section of the window his upper light. Does anyone has an answer how to get the correct section visible in the floor plan. See my attached images.
Best regards

Why did you make a window in a door family? That could cause you problems.

Well this certainly is not my day today. Even changing some attached pictures becomes messy...
I could try drawing a door in a window family. But is there a way to determine at which level of height a window or door family is visible in the floor plan ? Strange that this visibility doesn't follow the general view range settings.

No you are right with the light in the door family, I was just reading the description of your problem wrong, sorry. Are you sure that all of your visablility elevations are correct?

In your family, set your plan view range at that cut level.
AND reload the family.

I tryed deleting and replacing the family with adjusted view range settings but the effect is just the same. The difference in view settings in the former window was only 50 mm above the cut plane in the project file or floor plan.

The problem is probably the visibility of your components in the window area of this family. Change it from visible in plan to visible when cut in plan.

Thanks for your answers. I didn't fix it yet but I know now that it has something to do with the profiles. They look allright in the family drawing but they are flipping in the project file. (And dissapear in the walls) I quess I will have to delete and reload them in the project file. Strange because the problem didn't occur in a standard window family.

Select your window frame between top en bottom part and go to visibility settings,
uncheck plan/rcp
do the same for the top glass part.
Kind regards,
D
