I am trying to sweep a "not so coplicated" coffered ceiling in Revit.  Maybe it is complicated and I really have no idea on how to go about fixing the error I keep getting.  Usually to do with overlapping.

I have layed out the parimeter I would like to sweep along with an extruded profile.  Please let me know if you can help.  If so, please explain what you did.

Thanks in advance.

It appears you are trying to create a coffered ceiling family. This will be extremely difficult. Having built IRL, several of these. I would model in place the beams, etc. then make sweeps around each beam to create the coffered boxes. If you are trying to do it structurally like with a slab for post tensioning, I would use voids, but I would not try to make a family it will make you crazy.

I would just do this as a surface family.  No voids in it

It would even be easier as a straight extruded family.  Just add them in both directions in the project and let them intersect.  Not sure how well they would clean up but I would sure try it.

WW, suggestion is a good one, you would make two line based families, one as the beam with detailed sides if you like, and one for the edges.
