I have been getting quotes from resellers and I feel like I'm working with car salesmen, since the prices vary.  Still, the prices are still very high.  I'm in CA.  Does anyone have any advice, past experience, etc. of a reseller that will sell Revit at greatly discounted price?

Thank You!

$2000 - $3000 per license would be nice.

Do you know if it's possible to transfer a license?  I know someone with an old "legacy" version of Revit who may be willing to give it to me.  Then I theoretically would be able to use it to upgrade to the current Revit version at a much lower cost than a full version.

Do you know of anyone who was done this?  If so, what is the procedure to transfer a license?

Thanks for your input.

From what i understand about this type of thing, it is not allowed by Autodesk. You can try it but you might find yourself out in the cold when it comes to upgrading it. i think autodesk sees you as leasing the software and not actually purchasing it. you can read the User License Aggrement if you can bare it. They do cover this kind of thing in the aggrement.

Autodesk did have a program allowing designers and architects to purchase suites at a greatly discounted price (around the figures you mentioned) if you could demonstrate that you were unemployed.
