This symbol appeared today with no explanation. What does it mean?

I doubt the symbol appeared on its own - you were doing something - correct?
Like maybe trying to place something in the wrong view I would think.

The person who found it opened the model, worked in another area, and then panned to that area and discovered it on a previously placed door. It does not appear to be conflicting with anything and there isn't a warning message. The wall is 14' tall. The door is 7' and starts at the floor just like the wall... The symbol has been there all morning and seems to be connected to the door but there there is no other explanation. It only appears in one local copy - none of the other users see it in their open models.

Someone might be playing a game on you because Revit doesn't do this. Did you try editing that family and see if someone placed this symbol in that family?

Wow, you really aren't helpful.
We found the solution ourselves:
The person who found this was not on the same Revit build number as the template that they were using. When he loaded the content, it 'broke' it. Once he updated to the current build, the problem went away.
It wasn't a joke... Revit DOES do this. It was indicating a problem.
It would have been nice if the problem indicator had some type of message to clearly indicate what this problem was, but it did not. Luckily, we were able to find an answer.

Wow ... nice judgement.
I am glad you reposted though because none of us have ever seen this. Remember - we don't work for AutoDesk, we are just volunteers here so we appreciate all the help we can get.
