I should be well beyond something as simple as this but for the life of me I have researched and can't find out why. I have searched my entire c: drive for my journal files. I still have 2009 on my drive (which I am not using (2012 current) and my 2009 journal files are there.
I have looked under the options in Revit 2012 and it says that I have 99 journal entries then delete after 99 days however I do not have any Revit 2012 journals.xls files anywhere on my c: drive.
Every posts ststes windows hides them but no one tell how to unhide them. Wiki help is useless for this.

I hate wiki-help! That is why we turn it off in our office and only use the installed HELP.
From that:
Journal files capture the actions taken by the software during a session of Revit Architecture, from the time the software starts to the time it stops. These text files can be used to troubleshoot technical problems with the software.
Revit Architecture creates a new journal file each time you use the software. The journal file with the highest number is the most recent file. By default, journal files reside in the following location:
C:\Program Files\<Revit product name and version>\Journals

Thank you wwhub i have run that link and there is nothing. I have typed in Journal under search C: drive and nothing. Does a Revit subscription automatically come with journals?
I understand how they work and it is a brilliant way to find out who was in your project and what did they do among other things.
No problem in 2009 but with 2012 I can't locate any.

I found them in 'C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012\Journals'. That's the Win7 file path, I forget the XP file path but it should be similar.
ETA:
WWHub, how do you turn off the wiki-help and use the local help file?

Sorry tmassey ... missed that you were now on 2012 ... why not change your tag line?
For 2012 - the HELP says:
Revit Architecture creates a new journal file each time you use the software. The journal file with the highest number is the most recent file. By default, journal files reside in the following location:
- Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>\Journals
- Windows Vista or Windows 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>\Journals
The Journal folder is hidden by default in Windows.

TKennedy... To Use local help instead of wiki, you have to modify your ini file. Our IT guy wrote a power sheel script to do that here.
Under your documents and settings/user name / application data/autodesk/revit /autodesk revit architecture 2012 ...revit.ini
Change two lines:
"UseHelpServer=0"
"HelpBrowser=0"
^^^ This ini location is for 2012 ONLY Other versions are in different locations. Why did they change - ask autodesk.
If you want to go back to wiki - you set those back to 1.

And isn't this HELP better organized and easier to use than the on-line help?
Dumb AutoDESK folks let some of those AutoCAD developers screw this up. The built-in HELP is easier to use and so good.....
We can't even use the on-line because of McAfee... Takes forever to look up anything.
