Hi,
Probably an easy answer to this as I am new to revit. I have searched how to change the snap settings but in my Revit model all I can manage to snap to is the CAD underlay and Revit Architects model. When I add furniture to the plan view it won't let me snap to it to move it around the drawing accurately.
Thanks

Snaps depend on how the family was created and what any reference planes are set to in the family. If the family is an imported skp file, then the only sam might be the famiy's origin grids.
Read about reference planes in your HELP and look at "Is Reference".

I've set all the 'Is reference..' to Left, Right, Back, Front, Top etc. Reloaded the family but still no cigar? Any idea where I might be going wrong. Just need to be able to snap to the end point (corner) of a table to align it in a table arrangement. The table top is obviously not at floor level, so could this be the issue as the ref planes are at Level 0.

From the HELP: "Is Reference - Specifies whether a reference plane, sketched during the creation of a family, is a reference in a project. This means that you can dimension to the family or align to it. If you set a reference plane as a reference for all family types, then you can consistently dimension to that family type when you place it in your project."
Align - yes...to the famil's ref plane
Dimension to ... yes to the famil's ref plane
snap to an intersection ...of what? If there are no objects or linework then there are no intersections.
If you created "is reference" planes in the family, then your temporary dimensions will show and work from those and no need to snap to corners.... These work great if you learn to use them.
If you insist on CAD type of operation, then add linework in the family... There are also invisible lines available in families.

Hi,
I've figured out the route of the problem I think. The issue seems to be because of the room tags I have added to the linked revit model, I've had to do this (after adding room boundaries) so that it links to our furniture schedule. It seems after adding this room tags that means it is at a higher draw order than the placed furniture so won't select the snap points of the furniture family. I've tried using the same peice of furniture in a brand new project template as well as the original building model and they snap fine, so something to do with the room tags I've added. Any ideas? I am using Revit 2010.

The room tags would not normally interfere with model objects. Might have to use the tab key in some instances.
