Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on the Revit Arch. 2012 30 day trial versions free downloads.
Ok, I had Revit on my home computer once before from a market disk I got from Autodesk vendor, I Installed it and used it until my 30 days was up. Of course the program no longer runs once it expires etc...
So I completly uninstalled it. Months have gone by and now my frim is wanting to go with Revit soon and I'm wanting to show some inhouse CAD techs this software, So I downloaded a new version of it off Revit Kid.com site. I installed it and after all said and done, it came up and said my trial versions has expired. Why is that??? I cannot use another download and get an additional 30 days? Does Autodesk know if you have had it on your computer prior with an old trail? Is there a way around this using a new download??
I really need your help! Thanks

You should be able to install a trial version there at the office.
BTW - You can run Revit after your trial is up but you can not save any work. This means you can open any previously created file and view it. You can also modify it but you can't save the changes.

Well thats another issue, all system computers up here at office will not run 2012 at all. Old spec hardware and 32 bit systems, but I have also noticed that 2011 will run after the 30 trial, but 2012 will; it shuts down as soon as you try to close the box asking to BUY or Activate etc... I'm not sure if 2010 or even 2009 will run. Thanks for your help!
I ended up also calling the vender, and they stated once you install on a single computer and you try to install new and diffrent installs, Autodesk knows no matter what and will exhaust your 30 days reguardless.
Thanks once again!

YOU ALSO NEED TO REMOVE IT FROM YOUR REGISTRY. THIS WILL SOLVE YOUR ISSUE.

OPEN YOUR "RUN" WINDOW AND TYPE REGEDIT AND SEARCH FOR REVIT AND DELETE ALL REVIT FINDS.

The REVIT trial can only be run once per computer as far as I have experienced.
Not really optimum I might add as indicated by your current position.
I'd be a little leary of deleting all REVIT finds in the registry unless this is familiar ground to you.
However, if you go ahead with it please report back here with your experience and quantity of deletions in the registry.

Cleared all regitry entries, all of Autodesk, Revit relations, Does not work at all! I'm sure Autodeck gets a snap shot of the computer unit and puts in on file per computer. Next!!!

Well maybe I missed something, But ran a complete scan and removed all that related to name Revit and Autodesk enties.
Also I understand that Revit will run in demo mode, But I have found that 2011 Arch. will run in demo mode beyond the 30 days etc.. But 2012 Arch will not once you try to close the box promting you to BUY or ACTIVATE, the whole application shuts down and you get NOTHING! But your desktop. I have 2011 running in demo mode now on my work computer and pervious versions but 2012 will NOT for some reason, maybe Autodesk changed something. Don't know!
Any insight?

I have not heard this complaint about 2012 not running in demo mode beyond 30 days. Did you check AUGI to see if this was discussed there?

No but! It does it to me and all other computers that I have installed it on in the past and up to now. It also does not prompt you to go into demo mode as previous versions do. Maybe the trial version download and disk I have are the next best thing to this. Not sure!

There is 'Demo Mode' and 'Trial Version'. These are two different things.
Lst time I checked Demo mode is full functionality for 30 days. Trial is indefinate but does not allow save or print.
Usually after demo mode ends you are allowed to run in Trial mode.
Have you run out of computers to install the Demo Mode of REVIT onto ?
