When I create my schedules, it lists each instance of a door or window separately rather than once with a total count. I am choosing the categories Count, Manufacturer, Height and Width, and tried Mark and Type Mark but still the same results. For example, I have three bedrooms and all have the same door. Logically it should list it once with a count of 3. However it lists each by itself. To boot, it even uses the wrong numbers I have on the tags.
Please help!!
Thanks.

If you:
- Add the parameter called Family and Type to your fields in the schedule
- In the Sorting/Grouping tab, select Sort By: Family and Type in ascending order
- Make sure the Itemize every instance tick box is un-ticked.
The doors should now sort by family/type and have a total for each group of doors, rather than a line for every door.

You wrote that "....it even uses the wrong numbers I have on the tags." Tags and schedules read the properties you tell the system to read. If the tags are reading different than the schedule, then you have made a mistake in your sttings.
Remember, there are instance parameters and type parameters. What parameter is your tag reading?

Hi there,
Just a quick question.. I have a project where I have predominantly the same window family, but have an instance based tagging method for their numbers and materiality.
From your advice i have sorted my windows based on the family and have a count for all the same windows, BUT, when i did list i lost all my instance tags.
Is there any way I can still have the count for the family types but still keep the instance tags for each window?
Please Help!
Jess
