Is there anyone using Revit to make CDs? Are you implenting Revit to make interior elevation, exterior elevations, details, plans, RCPs, etc.? Any advice on moving to try and use Revit to tackle any of these?

thanks

If you are still using AutoCAD for CD's, then you are outdated. With Revit you can change a window size IN THE SCHEDULE and have it instantly change on the interior and exterior elevations, RCP, plan, and 3D Perspectives.  I'll be moved on to doing video animations and full color renderings while you are chasing around changes all day.

You have 5 bars and you are not using Revit for CDs. There must be something wrong. Seriously, I think  you are still thinking of going back to Autocad, don't you will loose your reputation. Smile

Our firm started with a small maintenance garage project when we first started with Revit then worked up to a bigger scale project and then an even bigger scale.  Worked for us as far as switching over.  HTH. Smile

Thanks for the input. I was just curious. I just got out of school and started in a firm and it is my job to introduce Revit. I was just asking...

I use this to help me perform tasks in school. I have no need for 5 bars. I was just looking for help. Does anyone know of any good websites for equipment blocks? or converting any other family files to revit?

The posts above were not put downs.  I think the users were just dumbfounded by your question considering your score.

Equipment blocks?  Mighty broad term.  AutoDESK Seek site has many manufacturer families.  And some manufacturers have their own CAD and Revit files.  You can also create families from Google warehouse objects but do that at the risk of these items being just guesses as to size etc.

Yes, with our limited knowledge of what your circumstances are, we are only trying to help and most of the times we start by asking questions. Smile

Ok I understand now. I have only ever used Revit for 3d renderings, which is why most of my posts have been concerning that. I appreciate the help. As far as moving to complete constructions documents, my firm produces drawings for Restaurants.  So are there any other websites for cooking equipment? other than http://smartbim.reedconstructiondata.com/ and revitcity.com? thanks.

I'm still curious in how someone gets 5 bars and only 43 posts ?

How does that happen exactly ?

Not that I care but I've been contributing to this site for 7 years.
