Revit 2012

Has anyone been using the "new" Create Parts on a wall assembly to show demolished finishes?  I have been looking into this as an option for a project coming up which will have the existing finishes stripped from the structure and replaced and I'm not sure what is the most effective way of displaying this on demo plans and floor plans.  Any suggestions?

Do you have to show it in 3D? If not, just use the Drafting Views (Detail).
