I'm working on an 8-storey condominium, and I'm generating a unit schedule. Each unit is a line-item (Unit #, type, size), and there is a schedule which provides me with a unit count of each type (studio, 1B, 2B, etc). Is there a way that I can generate a single unit from areas on two storeys? I have townhouses and penthouses which all need to show up on the schedule as a single item.. I can un-itemize instances and calculate totals (and assign the same unit # to two different areas), but my unit count still shows those areas as a "new" unit, so I'll get 14 units where I have 7 x 2storeys.
I really do need a workaround for this - otherwise the schedules are almost useless for me.

Are you using area plans or room areas?
Have you tried adding a shared parameter to your areas (rooms) called unit number? Then use that number as a sort.

I'm using area plans. As noted, I have turned off the itemizing of units and turned on the totals. visually this looks fine - the units show up with the correct areas. The two floor's areas are still counted as two different units though, which inflates my unit counts and throws off the totals.

to clarify: the way I got the areas to show up correctly was by changing the "number" parameter of the area to be the same on the two different floors. but it gets counted as two units.
