I’m not able to do what I want with the window tags. I have window type marks 1D on three windows. In the winsch I have given these windows instance marks 1D-1, 1D-2, and 1D-3. How can I get the instance marks 1D-1, 1D-2, etc. to appear on the plan view as the window tags instead of the type marks? I have created a Lintel_Header column as these are not the same for the different windows. Also I can’t get the window schedule to accept an input in this column that is not a number, like (2) 2x6’s. There must be formatting dialog that I can’t seem to find. I use revit 2011.
Thanks,
Carl

You need to edit your window tag to read the instance mark instead of the type mark. I suggest you do this and give it a different name for your library.
Your lintel question should be solved by making this a text column instead of length or integer.

The window schedule problem is solved. But how exactly do I get the window tag to read the instance parameter or mark?

I'm in the edit label dialog and I can add the mark category but I can't get rid of the type mark.

OK I got rid of the type mark and have the instance mark only. I still can't get the tag on the plan view to show the instance mark.

I doesn't sound like you understand. Getting rid of the type mark in the project doesn't help you. You need to edit your tag family to read the instance mark, then load that family into your project and use it.
Remember, when you have more than one tag available in the project, you have to set which tag you want to use in the tag pulldown.
