I need to create an acoustical ceiling in Revit that imports to Navisworks so that the panels and the metal framing system are seperate entities.  I need to be able to turn off or delete the "panels" in Navisworks so that all that is visible is the framing system.  Default acoustical ceilings in Revit import to Navisworks as a solid ceiling system as if it was gyp board with a grid hatch on it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to create this?

You will not be able to do this with a normal ceiling.  You could use a ceiling with a framing system applied to it.  I probably would create a grid family with a void mask to cut it to shape.

Also you could create your ceiling as an in-place generic model mass. then apply a curtain system and mullions. turn off the mass and panels and you have your metal framing system.
