Hi there,
Im using revit architecture 2012 and bumped into a problem(?) which i dont know how to solve so im hoping you guys might know.
As said in the title i have a problem where the material of a wall rotates after being cut by a void. The walls are in a group and the void i created by inplace component > wall and then drew a 75mm thick void hosted on the wall which then cuts it.
I hope the two attached image will explain my problem a bit more clear.
The walls are in groups which are copied for each level since the building is the same every level. The cuts/voids however follow a different pattern. So redrawing the facade with 2 types of wall with different thickness isnt really an option.
Regards,
Joost
edit: it doesnt wants to add the images? (150kb jpeg)

I don't understand why you can't do this with different walls as you said.
Why are your walls grouped?
What browser are you using to post images and what is your operating system? IE works and so does the older Mozilla.

thanks for the reply
The building is a 12 stories high and the top 10 of them are the same. Each level is a group and then arrayed vertically. So the changes i make in the group and done on each level.
The cuts in the wall are a subtle setback and come in squares of diffferent sizes through the facade. So the cuts are the only thing that are not the same for each level. which is why i build them outside the groups. making these cuts manually would simply cause too much work.
I used google chrome, im in IE now, op this works.
edit- ok the images still dont work.. i use win7 btw

Your first problem is you arrayed these groups. Why did you do that? You should have just copied the group to clipboard and pasted them all at once to selected levels. Arrayed groups are problematic.
I don't understand the use of groups here. If these are exterior walls, why did you group, I would think there is very little change of change here and a full height exterior wall would be better? Interior wall grouping would be OK.
IE window7 should work because Typhoon uses that. Chrome has problems. We still don't understand why some people have problems posting images and others don't. If you used a printscreen capture in 7, I wonder if that may be your problem. Try something like screenhunter free to capture a screen image.
