My renderings appear too flat. I would like more detail in my brick scaling and details they show

Is this a rendered or shaded view? Brick should work fine at this view scale so you have done something wrong.

Did you change the "Scale" of that brick material?

Apply the right material. Zoom in and render - I don't believe that wall has a brick material applied to it.

If you used the standard bricks, you don't need to scale because they are already correct. Typhoon was asking if you had scaled them or if you created your own brick pattern had you set it correctly.

I used a standard brick image and never modified it. and that rendering is what it did. I used running- red. I just changed the scale and increased the dpi and image size. so when I print it I don't have to scale it up.

I still can not seem to get them mortar joints to show up. What is the best brick pattern to use, that I can change the color on?

I increased the bump image and how much its value is. would that be how to add detail?

NO! Bump size will not help you.
The color of the mortar and the brick is managed through the jpg image. Either find an appropriate material image or edit the colors in an image program.

From your HELP....
Bump:> For texture properties, such as Finish Bumps and Bump Pattern, specify a value for Amount.
This value specifies the amplitude of surface irregularities. Enter 0 to make the surface flat. Enter higher values to increase the depth of the surface irregularities.
Basically, this adds depth to your surface.
As I said, Find an appropriate material image. Did you look at all of the standard brick materials already avialable to you in the program?

I think part of my problem was that I changed the color of running red. but I left the image on too much.
