anyone have any clue how this could happen?  or how i can fix it (get it back to put in a normal dimension)?

There was a stacked wall using this wall but why would that affect the width?  I also removed the stacked wall and still no change.

I am sure what you did was split region.  If you merge region on that layer and find where you split it you should be able to bring it back to the proper dimension.
