We need to figure out a way to schedule pairs of doors in Revit. Out of the box door families from Revit are set to schedule the opening width, not the actual "leaf" width in the case of a pair of doors. We have typically scheduled doors to indicat a pair of doors as "PR-3'-0"". We also use a large quantity of unequal sized double doors, where we have one leaf that is 3'-0" and the other is 1'-0" in our nursing facilities for gurney access.
We would like to set these up to be parametric and pull the data from the family directly. However, the system is currently setup to pull the "data" on the door width from a shared parameter that is merely a text field; meaning if a new door "size" is created, it requires someone to type or enter the width of the door in the shared parameter. There is a possibility of this not being updated, and thus the scheduled width of the door is NOT the actual width of the door. Any good ways anyone has come up with to do this based off modifying the family directly and not doing what boils down to a text override? Thanks!

This is a problem for us as well. We have added a y/n paramter to our doors called PAIR. In our schedule, we show that field then, for our door width column, we use a calculated field If (PAIR, Width/2, Width). This works well for all doors including storefront doors (uses the width of the opening mullion to mullion).
BUT - This doesn't solve unequal leaf doors. For those we don't have a good solution. We add a masking " ** " text over the size in paper space and describe the leafs in the remarks column. <<< Not a good Revit solution.
If anybody else has a better idea, we are open to it.

Hi Stressbuny,
You can try to download two posts and to see that might help you figure out how to create a costomized door schedule with door family. Go to "Downloads", "08-Openings", "08-10 00-Doors & Frames", the name of those two are "Adjustable Hollow Metal Doors for CMU and Stud Walls", and "Adjustable Hollow Metal Doors-Improved Version".
Play with it, hoping those are what you are looking for. Good luck!

Hi Stressbuny,
Forgot one thing, that was the size of the door co-related to the "Door Type".
Which means you might have to create a door family with unequal leaf sizes, make those parametric. It's fun to create you own family to meet what you need.

Hi Stressbuny,
I just upload a sample un-equal leaf door with customized door schedule. The name of that post is "Adjustable Hollow Metal Doors-Unequal Leafs" You can download it and try to see if that helps.
