FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tetra 4D Announces Upcoming Release of 3D PDF Converter™

for Autodesk® Revit® Labs Edition

--Software Will Allow Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) Community to Create Interactive 3D PDFs within Revit, Consumable by the Adobe Reader®--

Seattle, WA, December  5th , 2011—Tetra 4D™ today announced the Labs Edition of 3D PDF Converter for Revit. The new software enables Revit users to publish rich, interactive 3D PDFs directly from Autodesk Revit.

3D PDF Converter for Revit will enable the powerful capabilities within the free Adobe Reader, allowing anyone to view, measure, markup, and comment on both 2D and 3D data contained in a single 3D PDF file. The interactive 3D collaboration and review capabilities enabled by Tetra 4D increases productivity and saves time by allowing ubiquitous access by any stakeholder in the design or construction of a building.

3D PDF for Building Design and Construction

“An estimated 90% of architectural drawings end up in a PDF, which makes it the universal format for design communication between architects, their clients and contractors,” said Greg Baker, president of Tetra 4D. “With the advent of BIM and 3D modeling in the AEC market, and the rapid adoption of Revit, our company has been inundated with requests from Revit users to help them publish interactive 3D data to PDF. Our 3D PDF Converter for Revit will directly serve their needs by making Autodesk Revit data more accessible and more pervasive.”

Revit Architecture is an advanced, 3D parametric-based system for defining and creating buildings. Currently, sharing interactive 3D models is restricted to those who have a Revit license or have access to proprietary viewers.

3D PDF Converter for Revit will transform the process of sharing and collaborating with my clients, who all have the free Adobe Reader,” said Michael Schell, architectural building technologist at Premium Urban Design. “Sharing interactive 3D models with my clients helps them understand the design and identify problems more easily than sharing 2D data alone. And because Tetra 4D’s products integrate exclusively inside Adobe Acrobat, as a Revit user, I will be able to ‘turn on’ powerful capabilities within the Adobe Reader.

Participate in the Labs Release

3D PDF Converter for Revit is being released as a labs product to a limited number of applicants. Baker said, “We are looking for Revit users who are willing to provide feedback for the final version of the product.” To apply, please follow this link: http://www.tetra4d.com/revit-pre-release-program
