Can revit be forced to open and close to a blank/text drafting view to reduce the time it takes for other revit technicians to open and close files that have been saved on heavy views?

Can revit do this natively, is a macro required to be written?

I appreciate your comments!

Revit always opens the file from how it was last saved.   In our projects, we ask our users to save (or save to central) from a designated "PROJECT LEGEND" view that has project information in it... project description - team - important issues... etc.  Just switch to a similar small view (not tiled) and save.  BTW - This also reduces the overall project file size.

What version of Revit? 2012 now does this automatically. Go to the Manage tab and select Starting View. It defaults to 'last opened', but you can change it to any view in the project. It doesn't matter what view was active when the project was saved/closed, Revit will always open that view.

I create a drafting view in my template called "sync to central" i add some project info a startup instructions in it and set it as the default starting view. I also have people use this view with all others closed to syncronize.

Thanx TK,

I was wondering if there was such a way of overiding the last saved view and open with the same view each time. I shall test it out tommorow at work.
