Has anyone run into this problem? When I try to save an existing revit project or save a newly created project (as a test), I receive this error message: "failed to open document". If I hit "OK", I receive "file not saved". I cannot find a way around this problem and am working on a deadline. Any help would be appreciated. I have not encountered this problem previously.I am running Revit 2012 on a new macbook pro, using Parallels 7 for Mac.

this sounds like the standard message you get when Revit is running demo mode. you might want to check that first.

I also run Revit 2012 on both a Macbook Pro and iMac - using parallels. I also get these messages occassionally and I have not yet figured out a pattern as to why or when. My guess has always been a bug between Revit>Windows>Parallels - but I honestly cant say for sure. The only thing I do know is that is happens alot more with previous version family components - rather than project files - so many times I need to OPEN the (old version) family, save it as V2012 - and then load it into the project. I've found this way the amount of times these errors affect me are much less.
Not sure that helps, but its about the only advice I can offer.

I also get that message time to time. I work on a PC so I don't think your parallel is the issue. I tend to work with Arch & Str open at the same time and usually get these messages when my memory usage gets beyond 900,000 K. I have noticed that sometimes even though it says 'file not saved', if you open your explorer and check the time of the last modification, I've noticed that it did infact save.
I'd prefer to run the 64 bit over 32 and have the 3 gig switch applied but our IT dept. have their reasons against this.

Thank you very much for your responses. I haven't been able to resolve the issue, but am now trying to do so through the reseller. Thanks again.
